Doorbell Button Surround Installation Instructions

For use with low voltage chimes only. Includes button, surround and mounting hardware. Chime not included.

We recommend professional installation.

Materials included with each doorbell:

             2  1/4” wall anchors

             2 – 1” screws

             2 – 1 - 1/4” screws

             2 – 1 ½” screws

Note:  For masonry a ¼” masonry bit and a drill motor are required.

To attach to masonry such as stucco, brick or block:

  1. 1.       Remove old doorbell button making sure wires remain extended outside of wall.  If they are too short, you may need to add a short piece of wire. (18-20 gauge)

  2. 2.       Pull wires through hole in the doorbell surround and line up the button hole with the existing hole in the wall.  Level the doorbell surround vertically; with a sharp pencil, mark the two screw holes on the wall.

  3. 3.       Using a ¼” masonry bit, carefully drill the hole.  Wall anchors should be at least    1 - 3/8” deep.  Drive the wall anchors into the holes until they are flush with the outside surface.

  4. 4.       With the wires extended through the button hold, attach the doorbell surround to the wall using two 1 - ½” screws.  These screws require either a Phillips or a #2 square drive screwdriver.

  5. 5.       Attach the two wires to the doorbell button and push the button into the hole.  If the button won’t go in all the way, there is probably some misalignment in the hole. You may need to chip away some of the existing masonry for clearance.

To attach to wood, wood siding, vinyl, or aluminum siding:

  1. 1.        No wall anchors are necessary.

  2. 2.        Use the 1” screws for vinyl or aluminum siding.

  3. 3.        Use the 1 - 1/4” screws for wood.

A 1/16” pilot hole is necessary to get the screw started.
