Married for twenty-eight years, Kelly and Chuck live in Riverside, California. Their home is a reflection of their passion for the West—much of it built with Chuck’s own hands.
How did Noble Wood & Clay get started?
During the bathroom addition of an extensive remodel, they were searching for unique tiles to reflect their home’s quirky charm. They found the artsy custom tiles that they preferred to be very expensive and an idea occurred to them almost simultaneously: Why don’t we make our own tile?
The result:
A truly one-of-a-kind bathroom with over 1,000 handmade tiles. Kelly made pressed tile with ‘Membres’ Southwest motifs and scattered them throughout the field tiles—a perfect complement to Chuck’s beautiful, custom-made Southwest-style cabinetry.
On to the kitchen...
Chuck’s “wood” and Kelly’s “clay” met again in the kitchen. After jointly creating a design plan, Chuck built cabinets and Kelly made tile. Although they chose Silestone® for the countertops, the extensive backsplashes and bay window frame were all tiled—again in a Southwestern motif.
A business is born
The first doorbell surround was created as a gift for their daughter, but the response was so overwhelmingly positive they knew they had a beautifully functional home décor product on their hands. Noble Wood & Clay was born.
